multiple locations (MA, NJ, OH, OK, CO, NC). Our curriculum focuses on conducting, peer leadership, and showmanship. Instructors are all current and former college and DCI drum majors in addition to being music educators. Band at the Beach Music Camp, San Diego. This the 35th annual weeklong music day camp for Middle and High School band students. Eligibility: grades 7-12.

Hidden Valley Master Classes, Carmel Valley are immersive, week-long learning intensives for advanced players. Participants enjoy opportunities for learning, advancement, and creating relationships within the musical community. It’s a testament to our exceptional teaching faculty and the caliber of students that many Hidden Valley master class participants have gone on to hold important positions in major orchestras and universities around the world. Students and teaching faculty live on campus and spend meals and free time together.

Wildwood Music Camp, Glendora. For over 50 years Wildwood Music Camps, a registered non-profit, has provided week-long programs to middle and high school students on both band and orchestral string instruments. We provide an 8 days and seven nights all inclusive program for students. All counselors and coaches are vetted through LIVE SCAN. We strive to have a counselor-student ratio of 1:10 or less. Coaches and conductors are chosen from the ranks of California music educators, professional performers or an occasional graduate student.

Rafael Mendez Brass Institute, Denver

Held at University of Denver, this is America’s premier brass workshop. (Recommended for high school juniors and older.) Faculty include many of the most famous names in the business. Alexander Technique PLUS, Boulder. For 30 years we have offered somatic study to the musical community, an experience that includes significant aspects of the Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, movement, mindfulness, and psychology, all in the service of inclusive well-being. All ages are welcome. Our team: Amy Likar (DMA in flute, Director of Training for the Association for Body Mapping Education), James Brody (Director of the Musicians’ Wellness Program at the CU College of Music) and Matthew Tomatz (embedded psychotherapist to the College of Music). Amy and Jim provide effective strategies for efficient movement and thinking. Using an integrative approach, Matt will present daily sessions that will deepen the program through mindfulness, yoga, breath practices, and performance psychology. We encourage Master of Music Education students to join us for guidance on how to bring these powerful tools into your classrooms. Anyone with appropriate standing is eligible to receive one graduate credit through CU Continuing Education for an additional fee.

Lamont Summer Academy, Denver. A two-week live on campus program for young musicians in state-of-the-art facilities, with world-renowned artist faculty. For instrumentalists, singers, pianists and composers, ages 14 through 18. Study privately, and participate in chamber music, master classes, wind ensemble, orchestra, and modern music groups. Additionally students can take classes in theory and musicianship, conducting, music technology and music entrepreneurship.

Chamber Music Intensive, Jacksonville. On the riverfront campus of Jacksonville University, a week of immersive musical study with our distinguished faculty including chamber music, masterclasses, performances, private lessons, and All-State audition preparation. Florida State University Summer Music Camps, Tallahassee is one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive summer music programs, and has been providing outstanding summer music instruction for over 84 years. We offer one-week camps in June and July for middle school and high school musicians. Programs are offered in chorus, band, orchestra, jazz, keyboard, guitar, and marching/color guard leadership for beginner through advanced musicians.

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival, Valparaiso is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students (grades 8-12), taking place on the campus of Valparaiso University. The University of Iowa School of Music offers the Iowa Summer Music Camps (ISMC) to give students specialized musical training including group instruction, master classes, and classroom instruction in many phases of instrumental music – all in a major university campus setting in one of America’s favorite college towns. This summer, ISMC will offer 2 sessionsthat will include Jazz, Percussion, Horn, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Bassoon and others. Cedar Falls. This will be a week-long exploration of jazz music for high school students, including performances, workshops, jam sessions, masterclasses and more, offering a curriculum that covers jazz style, improvisation, theory, ear training, and performance through daily combo rehearsals and two concerts. The camp is intended for high school students, those going into 10th grade and above, and instructors.

Winter Harbor Music Festival, Winter Harbor. Interlochen Symphonic Band Camp, Interlochen. Eastern U.S. Music Camp, Hamilton

Now in its 48th year for students ages 12-18, our camp is located at Colgate University, one of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S. Counselors supervise campers 24/7. Two and three-week sessions include jazz/rock bands, orchestras, choirs, and chamber ensembles. Students on all instruments at any level can improve musical skills (theory, harmony, and composition and arranging) through private lessons, daily classes, workshops, guest artists, and weekly concerts and recitals. Students may study more than one instrument/voice. There are opportunities for daily recreation. The camp offers a friendly, productive atmosphere.

Ithaca College Summer Music Academy, Ithaca

The Ithaca College Summer Music Academy offers a two-week intensive residential music camp experience for students entering grades 10-12 and a one-week experience for students entering grades 7-9. Ensemble rehearsals, ability group chamber ensembles, theory classes, an All-Academy choir, electives, recreation activities and special evening events are part of both experiences. Lawrence Summer Music Institute, Appleton. Advanced high school pianists and string players (8th through 12th grade) will participate in an exciting week-long workshop focusing on building classical performance and chamber music skills. Students choose their complete experience! Each path has a balance of small and large group instruction, exploring different techniques combined with student creativity and choice. Inviting talented and motivated violin, viola, cello and piano students aged 14 and older to an intensive string and chamber music retreat at the Chateau de La Flocellière in France. Students at the Shkolnikova Academy are granted private lessons on their instrument, chamber music coachings, large string ensembles, masterclasses and performance opportunities in a convivial and nurturing atmosphere.
