Ali Ryerson Jazz Flute Master Class, Carmel Valley. Hidden Valley’s master classes are immersive, week-long learning intensives for advanced players. Participants enjoy opportunities for learning, advancement, and creating relationships within the musical community. It’s a testament to our exceptional teaching faculty and the caliber of students that many Hidden Valley master class participants have gone on to hold important positions in major orchestras and universities around the world. Students and teaching faculty live on campus and spend meals and free time together.

Northern California Flute Camp, Carmel Valley is a one-week, intensive program designed to educate and inspire young flutists through an interesting and cultivating curriculum that examines many aspects of flute performance. Presented by Hidden Valley Music Seminars in beautiful Carmel Valley on the central coast, NCFC offers a comprehensive camp experience by combining first-rate musical training with outdoor activities in the prime of California’s physical surroundings. NCFC is open to serious flute students, ages 12-18. At least 2 years playing experience and enrollment in private lessons is required. Students must commit to the full week session.

UCF Flute Boot Camp, Orlando. Flute Boot Camp is a three-day intensive program designed to educate and inspire young flutists from 7th grade to 12th grade. Daily masterclasses and preparation for State Allstate and Solo Ensemble. In addition to the daily curriculum, we will have a flute ensemble, yoga and movement classes as daily exercise.

UCF Summer Flute and Piccolo Institute, Orlando. The University of Central Florida Flute and Piccolo Institute is a 5 day experience of music making open for students in grades 7-12. Flute and piccolo Workshop features masterclasses with Dr. Nora Lee Garcia. All participants will be part of a large Flute Orchestra culminating with a final showcase concert.

25th Annual Summer Flute Retreat, Peru. All levels, adults welcome. Congregational Church 1431 Fourth St. 8:30am-4pm. Summer Flute Showcase at Starved Rock Lodge and Final participant recital.

Floot Fire, Boston. Open to flutists grades 6-12, Floot Fire Boston welcomes students to work with a faculty that includes Dr. Kimberly Clark, David Houston, Vanessa Mulvey, and Kristen Dye. Students are grouped into similar levels based on information received from each student and participate in warm ups, technique classes, masterclasses, electives, and more. This year’s electives will include better practice, body mapping, extended techniques, and low flutes.

Flute! Masterclass in Repertoire and Performance, Denton is a performance class for advanced performers, and these sessions emphasize musical performance and preparation. Daily classes include warmup exercises, tone/
technique development, articulation studies, interaction of performer and listener, and the master class concludes with a concert by members of the class.

Flute! Fundamentals, Denton is a workshop for educators interested in developing teaching and performing skills. Participants observe master teaching and interact with artist Mary Karen Clardy coaching students of all levels in daily sessions. Basics of embouchure, breathing, tone production, phrasing, articulation, vibrato, and technical skills are addressed, with practical exercises/solutions for common flute problems given throughout the class.
