Specialized training in marching band related activities for high school and college students, since 1949! Clinics: Drum Major, Section Leader, Drumline & Front Ensemble, Color Guard, Mace & Signal Baton, and Student Conductor. Held on the campus of Eastern Illinois University, taught at various levels, according to experience, beginner-advanced. July 2024. Directors Clinic: A comprehensive experience for band directors and college music majors. Taught by experienced, nationally famous educators in their field! Come as a seasoned veteran looking for fresh ideas and rejuvenation, or as a young director looking to sharpen real hands-on teaching skills. Housing and dining is included.
Drill Design: For school and college directors, private writers/designers, & college music majors only. Pyware in beginning and advanced levels, and complete work on your own show. Arts Empowering Life offers Summer Performing Arts Camps at the new Performing Arts Center in Brewster, MA (95 Southern Eagle Cartway). July 9-August 14, K-12 Theatre (Tuesdays), Strings (Tuesdays), Percussion (Wednesdays), and Winds (Wednesdays). 9 am-2 pm with lunch and snacks provided. (8:45 am registration). Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp offers four two-week sessions June-August in band, orchestra, jazz, choir, creative writing, harp, piano, art, dance, and theater for students in grades 5-12. Advanced programs for winds, percussion, and strings require placement by audition. Significant scholarships based on merit or financial need. Tuition with housing $1,730-$1,875 depending on major. At Interlochen Arts Camp, ages 8-18 convene to expand their capacity in music, benefitting from personalized instruction, practical and theoretical learning, and inspiring collaboration. Interlochen’s exceptional faculty help young musicians hone their craft through private lessons, studio classes, music theory courses, and ensemble experience, while enjoying all the fun and traditions of summer camp. Summer@Eastman offers an individualized, world-class music education experience: day camps and half-day workshops for middle and high school students, weeklong institutes devoted to various instruments or specialties, weekly rehearsals and courses for the community, online workshops, and collegiate classes in Music Education, Music History, Music Leadership, and Music Theory. Highlights for Summer 2024 include collegiate institutes for brass (horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba/euphonium), Alexander Tech-nique, Instrumental Methods & Techniques, and Wind Conducting. 6/24-8/2. Vocal and instrumental programs for ages 15+ in the medieval city of Assisi. The program includes masterclasses and lectures as well as an intensive schedule of performances – solo, chamber ensemble, and festival orchestra and choir.
