March 9
Irish Workshop: O'Carolan Tunes

The Old Avoca Schoolhouse in Avoca, Nebraska will be streaming “Irish Workshop: O’Carolan Tunes”, for folks who play violin/fiddle, viola, cello, bass, mandolin, and soprano recorder.

The Workshops will be on Tuesday, March 9, 7 PM - 8 PM, US Central Time, and Wednesday March 10, 10 AM - 11 AM, US Central Time.

Each participant (US residents only) will receive a copy of our “O’Carolan Fiddle Tunes for Two”, written for the instrument of their choice.

This wonderful collection of Irish melodies contains 32 tunes composed by the great blind 17th century Irish harpist and poet, Turlough O’Carolan. There is even information in the back of the book about O’Carolan, and the tunes, to help folks understand how and why O’Carolan composed them. Guitar chord symbols for accompaniment are included.

During the Workshops, we will play, and experience what makes these tunes so special.

Pre-registration required. The fee for each “Irish Workshop: O’Carolan Tunes” is $25.00.
