Viola/Cello Fiddling Workshop Oct 15

The Old Avoca Schoolhouse in Avoca, Nebraska will be streaming an on line Viola/Cello Fiddling Workshop for folks who play viola, and/or cello. The workshops will be on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (CT), and Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM (CT). Each participant residing in the US will receive a copy of The Viola Fiddling Tune Book, or The Cello Fiddling Tune Book.

During these workshops we will play and discuss tunes from “The Viola Fiddling Tune Book” and the “The Cello Fiddling Tune Book” which share the same tunes in the same keys. Each of these has the tunes presented in score form with the melody line on top and a harmony part right beneath. Different tunes will be played at each session. The cost for each workshop is $10.00. The cost of each optional book is $15.00 (includes shipping if ordered with workshop registration).

This book features a collection of fiendishly fun fiddling tunes for cellists of all finger fitness levels! I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to venture off the beaten path..”
- Amy Catron Flores,
American String Teacher , May, 2001

“These fiddle tunes for viola are pedagogically excellent in every way... The performance notes could well serve as a style manual for playing fiddle music...”
- Karen Clark,
American Music Teacher , October/November 1999
